| | imogen heap | ] | After a week of constantly being hopped on caffeine, my grades are done for the year. Friday night Talent Show was surprisingly good, and I amazingly still had energy to thoroughly embarass myself in the teachers' act. Yesterday I joined two eighth grade teams on a mountain hike, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. I slept eleven hours, and it was the best sleep I've had in over a week.
At noon I go sign for an apartment where my cat will be able to live with me.
Maybe I'm being too cynical, but I can't help this little worrying thought that I'm so completely happy right now, it can only start getting worse from here. |

| | satisfied | ] | Sometimes I'm annoyed that I'm not able to sleep just a -little- bit later on the weekends; even though I have no reason to be up, I'm wide awake around six. Today, though, was well worth being awake. The morning began curled around delicious coffee and warm muffins. It accelerated to barefoot frisbee, finding glory in dewy grass and golden sun. The air wrapped itself in heady, romantic lilac.
I hope everyone had a good morning. |

| | october project | ] | I do not regret not planning a trip this vacation week-- New England was, fleetingly, paradise. The sun was bright, the afternoons were as warm as summer while the evenings remained cool and refreshing. All the branches are becoming a new gold-green, or brimming with warm pinks and whites of blossoms. I somehow managed to maintain a perfect balance of getting some work done and seeing a variety of different friends, with just the right amount of time all to myself. I didn't even mind the grading, because I was able to get it done outside in the sunlight.
Friday afternoon was tennis followed by a relaxing movie night. Saturday was a hike, picnic lunch at the summit, sushi dinner with the hiking group, and beers by a bonfire. Sunday and Monday I had blissfully to myself. Tuesday was a very successful outdoor shopping excursion with a girlfriend. Lunch on Wednesday with a coworker and her adorable puppy. Thursday visited a friend all evening in Rhode Island. Friday hosted a cookout with the gaming crew, so of course there was dnd to be had. Saturday was lowkey.
Being New England, the weather has turned to bone-chilling and overcast. Perfect for three hours spent in a cafe over a steaming cup of tea, working across the table from someone who makes me blush. |

| | indescribable | ] | I began my weekend under the impression that the weather was going to be typical New England not-quite-Spring: grey, chilly and rainy. Saturday morning certainly started that way. On my run the sun started to shine, and the grey melted into a fine mist that swirled and eddied away on the wind. By lunch I was eating outside at a cafe, rocking shades. By dinnertime, ominous clouds rolled in which offered sporatic rain, but they were so perfectly speared by shafts of low sunlight that there was a bright, complete arc of a rainbow dominating the sky. The thunder was the kind that purred in your chest.

Short trip to Montreal over spring break. Years later in a city without my family, of legal age to do anything, and the Biodome is still my favorite. I'm such a dork. |

My friend's away message earlier today: "I am away from the computer right now"
Me: "you have the boringest away messages of all my buddies. And I'm an English major, so when I use the word 'boringest' you can be sure it is grammatically correct."
His new auto-response: "The beautiful literary genius Anna Poteete is unhappy with the blandness of my away messages.:-P" |
